Jhené Aiko's Futuristic Couture Gown at the Shang-Chi Premiere Is a Trip For the Eyes

Nothing announces your arrival on a red carpet like a stunning head-turning outfit, and Jhené Aiko certainly understood the assignment. On Aug. 16, the singer attended the premiere of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Marvel's first-ever Asian superhero movie, wearing an intricate gown fit for an ethereal goddess. Between the impeccable trippy embroidery, dramatic sleeves, and mismatched pleats made from upcycled marine debris, it's hard not to be mesmerized by Jhené's Iris van Herpen dress, straight from the designer's spring 2021 couture collection.

We imagine all eyes were on that futuristic design practically drawn onto her body, so it only makes sense that Jhené kept the rest of her look simple, opting for delicate rings and bracelets, as well as sparkly ear cuffs. The singer, who features on the film's soundtrack with Swae Lee, also shared photos from the occasion on her Instagram afterwards, writing, "woah! @shangchi was so good!" Ahead, see the star's enthralling gown from all angles.
