Billie Eilish has been leaning heavily into the '90s when it comes to her looks as of late, always sprinkling them with an extra dose of personality. The 20-year-old musician exuded what can only be described as the epitome of retro grunge when she shared a selfie to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Nov. 21. Holding up her phone to the mirror in what appears to be a practice room or recording studio, Eilish kicks one leg out in front of her, presenting throwback trends from tip to toe.

In the photo, Eilish wears a plaid midi skirt with a cargo pocket on each side. She teamed it with an oversize black polo shirt in true borrowed-from-the-boys fashion, with a cream-colored grandpa cardigan worn open on top. Eilish's element of surprise comes courtesy of a contrasting plaid newsboy cap and sporty Nike sneakers, which she complemented with white ribbed ankle socks.

Though Eilish has always opted for head-turning looks both on and off the red carpet, she has gone through quite a style evolution that has led her to settle on experimenting with her own take on the early-aughts aesthetic. Her latest fragrance release pictures her in a deconstructed crochet minidress from Elaine Lip styled over a crop top designed by Ren Haixi. Before that, she and beau Jesse Rutherford chose to twin in boudoir looks covered in the iconic Gucci logo at the LACMA Art+Film Gala on Nov. 5. While she was still on tour, she peppered in some more casual day-to-night dressing in the form of graphic tees and hip-slung pants.
