Priyanka Chopra stepped out in New York City for the night in a blue wool skirt and turtleneck set from Max Mara. She's in the Big Apple to promote her new film The Sky Is Pink. And leave it to my coworker Nikita to point out that Rihanna wore the same exact monochrome outfit just one month back as soon as she caught a glimpse of Priyanka. I wouldn't expect anything less from Nik, immediately scanning through her own fashion archives like that — Priyanka and Rihanna are two of her favorite style icons, after all. In my mind, this could only mean one thing: if both Priyanka and Rihanna are fans of this co-ord, a little blue miniskirt and modest, matching sweater are pure "going out" gold.
While Rihanna worked her ensemble with Fenty "Date Night" pumps and a Bottega Veneta oversize clutch, Priyanka held onto her pooch, and later her phone, going bag-free but accessorizing with bronze Christian Louboutin heels and an Alexis Bittar ring that complemented similar sculptural earrings. My personal favorite things about this look, on both women, are that it's a no-brainer to style, and it isn't overtly sexy. Both ladies appeared sophisticated and comfortable, and I'm sure that's why Nikita's constantly looking to them for inspiration. Well, guess what? Now Priyanka and Rihanna are both on my mood board, too — in these matching outfits, no less.
