Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber, and More Unite For a Virtual Runway Show to Fight COVID-19
Carine Roitfeld, founder of CR Fashion Book, announces Fashion Unites, a special CR Runway global event with amfAR Against COVID-19. The second edition of CR Runway will be a first-of-its-kind virtual fashion show that will bring together celebrities to "offer a moment of creative inspiration and uplifting entertainment for everyone doing their part by staying home while raising awareness for research efforts led by the amfAR Fund to Fight COVID-19."
The virtual fashion show will stream worldwide exclusively on YouTube and will be hosted by Derek Blasberg. It will bring together some of the industry's biggest names including Kim Kardashian, Karlie Kloss, Ashley Graham, Hailey Bieber, Adriana Lima, Diane von Fürstenberg, Halima Aden, Virgil Abloh, Karolina Kurkova, Alexander Wang, Joan Smalls, Winnie Harlow, Irina Shayk, Jasmine Sanders, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Heron Preston, and Shanina Shaik.
This will be the first self-filmed fashion show captured by models wearing pieces from their own personal wardrobes and styled remotely by Roitfeld and her team. The event will also include backstage footage of what went into producing this global collaboration as well as messages of hope from designers to those risking their lives fighting the pandemic.
To aid research efforts in defeating the virus, amfAR created the amfAR Fund to Fight COVID-19, which will provide its state-of-the-art resources and experts to help support the development of treatments for the coronavirus. In addition to all parties contributing to this global nonprofit event pro bono, Carine Roitfeld and others have already made monetary donations for the cause. The 30-minute, self-filmed fashion show will stream worldwide on YouTube on Friday, May 1, at 4 p.m. EDT, so set your alarm now.
