How I Met Your Mother Cookies | Video

Make HIMYM's Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Caramel Sumbitch Cookies

After nine amazing years, How I Met Your Mother is down to its last episode, and we're savoring its final moments. That includes making our version of sumbitch cookies — crisp, chocolaty, caramel and peanut butter cookies that are naughty in all the right ways. We encourage you to bake up a batch of these and eat your feelings as we all cry through the series finale.

Ingredients

  1. Nonstick oil spray
  2. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  6. 3/4 cup sugar
  7. 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  8. 1 teaspoon water
  9. 1 teaspoon store-bought or homemade vanilla extract
  10. 2 eggs
  11. 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  12. 1 cup chocolate caramels, such as Rolos, halved
  13. 1 cup peanut butter cups, such as Reese's, quartered

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray 2 baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars using a stand or hand mixer until fluffy. Add water and vanilla; mix on low until combined. Add eggs, and beat on low until combined.
  4. Add flour mixture, and mix on low until well combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, caramels, and peanut butter cups.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized cookie dough pieces onto baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
