Put your slow cooker to delicious use and make a comforting chili with a touch of sweetness thanks to sweet potatoes. And you can prep everything the night before and then add it to your slow cooker first thing in the morning. You'll be welcomed home with a delicious bowl of chili.

Just fill your slow cooker with the ingredients, turn to high, and in six to eight hours, you're ready to eat.

Slow-Cooker Sweet Potato Chili


  1. For the chili:
    2 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 onion, diced
    2 cloves garlic, diced
    1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
    1 (15.25-ounce) can white beans, drained and rinsed
    1 (15.25-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    1 (15.25-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
    1 red pepper, chopped
    1 yellow pepper, chopped
    1 (1.25-ounce) packet chili mix
    2 cups vegetable stock
  1. For the toppings:
    Sour cream
    Crumbled tortilla chips
    Lime slices
    Shredded cheddar cheese
    Avocado, chopped


  1. Add all ingredients to your slow cooker and set to high. Cook for 6 to 8 hours, or until the sweet potato is fork tender.
  2. Top with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, fresh lime, and avocado.
