McDonald's Shamrock Shake Is Back For St. Patrick's Day

The McDonald's Mint Green Shamrock Shake Is Back, and We're Piling On the Whipped Cream

We're in luck! McDonald's is skipping right over Valentine's Day and celebrating St. Patrick's Day a little early this year with the return of its mint-green Shamrock Shake, and we're already prepared to ask for extra whipped cream. The festive seasonal drink has been a fan favorite since it first debuted in 1970 (50 years ago?!), and it'll be available again for a limited time beginning Feb. 15 alongside the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, which first hit the menu in 2020.

The Shamrock Shake is made with creamy, pastel green Shamrock Shake syrup and topped with a sweet ruffle of whipped cream. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry is a thicker version of the shake mixed with bits of Oreo cookies. So make sure to dig in with a spoon because those cute metal straws you got over the holidays probably aren't going to cut it this time around. Swing by your closest McDonald's or put an order in via McDelivery or the restaurant's app to enjoy the drink for yourself ahead of St. Patrick's Day.
