Another month, another list of new Trader Joe's products. April brought us some solid new pantry staples, like black bean pasta, but May is coming in strong with some fresh foods and drinks to ease customers into Summer (spoiler alert: that cold brew coffee is a must!). Keep reading to find out everything you should pick up — and everything you should skip — on your next Trader Joe's trip.

Pick Up: Organic French Roast Cold Brew Coffee ($10)

Pick Up: Organic French Roast Cold Brew Coffee ($10)

If you're an iced-coffee addict or cold-brew-lover, Trader Joe's organic french roast cold brew coffee is totally worth the buy. Its $10 price tag might take you by surprise, but don't be fooled into thinking you're supposed to drink straight from the bottle. You mix one part cold brew with two parts water (dilution is necessary), so the bottle ends up giving you 12 eight-ounce cups of coffee — definitely cheaper than a daily Starbucks run.

Pick Up: Marshmallows ($3)

Pick Up: Marshmallows ($3)

It's true — Trader Joe's didn't have marshmallows until now. And guess what? They're delicious. And gelatin free (aka vegan!). The fluffy mallows are the right amount of sturdy and squishy, and if s'mores are in your near future, you should pick these up. Sadly, this product is seasonal and won't be available after Summer's over.

03
Pick Up: Pecan Praline Granola ($3)

Pick Up: Pecan Praline Granola ($3)

Trader Joe's has sold pecan praline granola for a long time, but the old version has been replaced with this new and improved — and gluten-free — version. It's whole-grain oats and pecans sweetened with maple syrup, and granola-lovers agree that this passes the test. Try this on its own for a snack or add to your yogurt or acai bowl.

04
Pick Up: Chile Lime Seasoning Blend ($2)

Pick Up: Chile Lime Seasoning Blend ($2)

This tasty chile lime seasoning blend is a mix of sea salt, chile pepper, red bell pepper, and lime juice. It's salty and flavorful and would be best sprinkled on fresh mango or rubbed on chicken breasts before grilling.

05
Pick Up: Roasted Potatoes With Peppers & Onions ($3)

Pick Up: Roasted Potatoes With Peppers & Onions ($3)

These new roasted potatoes with peppers and onions have definitely earned a spot on the list of the best frozen items from Trader Joe's. Filled with herbs like garlic powder, sage, and chili powder, they're not your average boring side of potatoes. The directions call for either microwaving or sautéing, and I definitely recommend using your stovetop so they get nice and crispy.

06
Pick Up: Trofie Colore Pasta ($2)

Pick Up: Trofie Colore Pasta ($2)

The latest creation from Trader Giotto's is this trofie colore macaroni. It cooks (and tastes) just like regular pasta, but it's worth a try for its fun colors and spiral shape. It would be great for mixing up Summer pasta salads and side dishes.

07
Pick Up: Just Beets ($3)

Pick Up: Just Beets ($3)

They really are just beets (that's the sole ingredient listed). These dehydrated beet chips are super crunchy, naturally sweet, and perfect as an afternoon snack if you're a fan of the earthy flavor of beets.

08
Pick Up: Unsweetened Instant Oatmeal ($3)

Pick Up: Unsweetened Instant Oatmeal ($3)

While it might seem surprising that oatmeal is a new Trader Joe's product, it's the unsweetened part that's new. The store has plenty of sweetened oatmeal offerings, but this whole-grains-packed version is the first of its kind. Each pack of instant microwaveable oats is composed of whole-grain oats, ground flaxseeds, chia seeds, quinoa, and amaranth. If you prefer savory oatmeal with naturally sweet toppings like fresh berries, this is a solid option for a filling breakfast.

09
Pass: St. Nectaire Cheese ($10/pound)

Pass: St. Nectaire Cheese ($10/pound)

I'll cut to the chase: this French cheese has a whole lot of stink and not a lot of flavor. Trader Joe's St. Nectaire cheese is a semisoft cow's milk cheese with a washed rind that gives off stench from feet away, but your taste buds will be disappointed as soon as you take a bite.
