If you're fortunate enough to find yourself in the vicinity of New York City sometime during the Summer months, do yourself a favor and make your way to Brooklyn for Smorgasburg. Held on weekends during the warm weather in Williamsburg on Saturdays and Prospect Park on Sundays, this delicious market is a treat for foodies and nonfoodies alike. Visitors can find a large variety of foods to nosh on, including everything from pork buns to barbecue to even the new favorite spaghetti doughnuts. But let's be honest, dessert is what really matters when it comes to what we're eating. I made a preliminary visit to Prospect Park this month to see what was on offer, and I was not disappointed. Look through to find seven treats that you absolutely must try, and just know that if you're a fan of s'mores or ube, you'll be very, very happy.

S'mores Pie

The s'mores pie from Butter and Scotch was probably my favorite thing at Smorgasburg so far. The best part is that the marshmallow is toasted to order. It's literally toasted with a torch right in front of you.

Butternut Squash Doughnut

The butternut squash doughnut from the Vermont maple lemonade stand is a damn good doughnut. It's light and fluffy and has a hint of cinnamony squashy flavor to it.

Ube Milk Drink

Ube Kitchen has a variety of ube options, but I went with the ube milk drink, which is made with ube milk, coconut milk, and tapioca pearls. I chugged it pretty quick, and I'm not totally sure if it was because it was delicious or if the hot weather factored into it.

Waffle Ice Cream Cone

I think we spent about 10 solid minutes deciding how to build the ideal waffle ice cream sundae at the Wowfulls stand. We ended up with a standard waffle, birthday cake ice cream, strawberries, mochi, chocolate sauce, and Pocky. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I think we really crushed it, because it was awesome.

Liquid S'mores Shot

The special of the day at the Rubyzaar Baked stand was the liquid s'more. It was hot chocolate pudding, marshmallow fluff toasted to order, and a graham cracker stuck in the side. I didn't even care that it was hot outside, I was going to enjoy this hot chocolate, and enjoy it I did. If this is the special of the day when you're at Smorgasburg, definitely try it.

Churro Ice Cream Sandwich

Listen, I love a good churro, so I was sold immediately upon seeing Dulcinea's stand. We got the salted caramel churro ice cream sandwich that even had dulce de leche in it. I'm not even embarrassed by how fast we devoured it.

Purple Raindrop Cake

Well, the raindrop cake has made it to Smorgasburg. Brought to the market by the aptly named company Raindrop Cake, the "cake" comes in two varieties: original or purple. We obviously went with the purple, which is ube, of course. It's like a little Jell-O ball and just needs to be tried by everyone. If nothing else, you can at least say you tried one of the trendiest dishes of the last couple years.
