These Are the Best Bubblegums From the '90s That You Could Never Forget

Bazooka had two really great things going for it: it actually lasted me all day and the comics inside the wrappers were always a surprising treat. And that's coming from someone who never liked comics. The texture, on the other hand, was a bit tough. Literally.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time at baseball fields where my brothers played, and naturally all the snack stands stocked baseball gumballs. These little beauties made me feel like part of the game, even though they didn't taste like much and didn't chew for very long.

Another one that made me feel "cool": the bubblegum cigars. Honestly, though, I never pretended to "smoke" them; I just chewed right into them, even though they weren't huge on flavor.

I loved the little Gold Mine Bubblegum nuggets because they were something different. I also had a fascination with collecting rocks and gemstones, so these fit right into my collection. Sometimes it was difficult to get the nuggets to meld into a wad of chewing gum, and truthfully they didn't taste like anything special, but that novelty factor was on point.

My mom was horrified every time I'd chew a Tongue Splasher and stain my mouth a new color. Purple tongue? Sign me up.

Who doesn't want bubblegum that crackles in pops in their mouth? As a child, that was absolutely something I wanted, which is why I had a lot of Pop Rocks Bubble Gum.

We had a sporting goods store in town that always had a container of Quench Gum on the counter for sale, and whenever I'd be in there with my parents to buy something or other for my brothers' many athletic needs, I insisted on getting a handful of the citrusy thirst-quenching gum so I could have a purchase too. I liked attention. And the tart gum, for that matter. It was the closest thing to Sour Patch Kids gum in the '90s.

How fun were the colors of Rain-Blo gumballs? Like basically all gumballs, they don't have a lot of extra flavor or last long as far as chewing goes, but the colors, crunchy candy exterior, and pillowy interior made it a neat novelty.

You could never go wrong with the classic Dubble Bubble. These bite-size pieces packed the classic bubblegum flavor but never lasted long enough.

One of my childhood favorites that's basically impossible to find anymore is the Ouch Bubble Gum that's shaped like bandages. I just really liked gum that was shaped like random objects, and this was just sweet and fruity enough to suit my preteen needs.

Chiclets Tiny Size Gum might not have tasted like much (other than crunchy sugar), but that didn't stop me from ripping into packet after brightly colored packet and pouring the entire contents into my mouth. I also accidentally swallowed the Chiclets whole before I could get them to all stick together in my mouth way more often than not.

For the best bubble blowing and gum snapping, I chewed my way through a packet of Bubble Yum. I didn't discriminate with flavors, as I find them all to be delicious, but the original was always the best because it had the most authentic bubblegum flavor ever created. The cotton candy is also not to be missed!

Not only did Fruit Stripe Gum step it up in the food-coloring department and tutti-frutti flavor, but each wrapper doubled as a temporary tattoo.

Sorry, washi tape, you weren't the first novelty tape to take the US by storm; Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape's got you beat. I remember numerous times where I'd shove inch after inch of this supersoft gum into my face just to keep the sweet flavor going.

For some reason, chewing the ultrajuicy Big League Chew just made me feel so damn cool, so obviously I had a lot of it. It came in a few flavors, but grape was always the most flavorful.

I'm not saying I used to pour an entire Bubble Jug of bubble gum powder into my mouth at once, but I'm also not not saying that. I was just really fascinated by the flavored dust turning into actual chewing gum, OK?
