This 10-Inch Oreo Ice Cream Roll Is Meant For 8 People, but Obviously It Hasn't Met Me Yet

How does that old saying go? "Sometimes the best things in life are free," right? Well I think that should be edited to read, "Sometimes the best things in life are sitting right under your damn nose and your oblivious self has been too blind to realize it," because that's exactly the case with this epic Oreo Ice Cream Roll. While aimlessly scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon this sugary clusterf*ck of a dessert, and immediately wondered where on earth it had been my whole life. And as it turns out, it's been casually chillin' on store shelves for quite a few years now.

This frozen, log-shaped treat is essentially a tube of Oreo-filled vanilla ice cream covered in a generous dusting of crushed chocolate cookie pieces. The box encasing it is 10 inches long, and the ice cream roll inside is about that same size, give or take a few centimeters. Apparently it's intended to feed up to eight people, but apparently the human who made that suggestion isn't quite aware of the rabid Oreo-inhaling tendencies of Oreo addicts around the world, myself included. I could easily devour this beauty in one (OK, maybe two, if we're being realistic) sitting.

If you're like me and haven't come across the heavenly Oreo Ice Cream Roll yet, you can use this store locator to see if it's available at any retailers near you. And if you're unlucky in tracking it down, it does look pretty manageable to DIY. This handy-dandy copycat recipe suggests mixing crushed-up Oreos into softened vanilla ice cream before forming it into a log on wax paper. After freezing the cylindrical log from 15 to 30 minutes, remove the wax paper, and roll the log on mashed Oreos that are sitting on top of wax paper, ensuring that the entire surface is covered before placing it back in the freezer one last time. Then just slice away!

The Oreo Ice Cream Roll is truly a culinary sight to behold, so scope out a handful of drool-inducing photos below — because just one isn't enough, TBH.
