From Samoas to Toffee-tastics: A Definitive Ranking of Girl Scout Cookies, From Best to Worst

Every year, after the holidays die down and the decorations are put away, something beautiful happens that brings so many people, myself included, endless joy. And that, my friends, is Girl Scout Cookie season. Girl Scout Cookies are typically sold between January and April, so it's officially time to spend more than a few paychecks on those delicious little cookies (it's fine since the cookie proceeds go to a good cause). And since there are so many amazing cookie flavors, enjoying them is a very personal and individualized experience. There are a lot of opinions on which cookies are the best, so we've ranked the ones that are truly worth every last bite and the ones you can maybe skip ordering this year. Keep reading to see the list now, and happy cookie season!

01

Caramel deLites/Samoas

No matter what you call them, Caramel deLites are the best of the best. Between the sweet coconut, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate, this cookie will turn any bad day around. I'll probably order about 20 boxes of these and still run out before Spring is over.

★★★★★

02

Thin Mints

Coming in second place are the amazing Thin Mints. Whether you dip them in hot chocolate or throw them in your freezer, Thin Mints are one of the best cookies out there. If you're not a fan of the coconut in our top-rated Samoas, these are the next best thing when it comes to Girl Scout Cookies.

★★★★★

03

Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs

There's nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a Peanut Butter Patty. These come in third place because the chocolate can sometimes be a tiny bit waxy, but the amazing peanut butter filling makes up for it every time.

04

Thanks-A-Lot

Thanks-A-Lots and I have come a long way since my Girl Scout Cookie journey began, and I must say they're probably the most underrated cookie out there. These are ranked fourth due to being a little more boring, but don't underestimate them. They're the perfect everyday cookie to enjoy.

★★★★

05

Lemonades

Ah, Lemonades. You either love 'em or hate 'em. Personally, I love Lemonades, but they're coming in fifth simply because you've got to be in the mood for them. If you like Lemonades, be sure to try the Lemon-Ups, which are being released this year.

★★★★☆

06

Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos

Peanut Butter Sandwiches were my favorite as a child, but we've unfortunately grown apart. While they're still obviously delicious, the sandwiches can get a little dry due to the double cookie.

★★★★☆

07

Caramel Chocolate Chip

I don't eat gluten very often due to a sensitivity, but I will admit that gluten-free foods are never better than foods that are not allergen-free. With that being said, these are a great gluten-free dessert and one of the best gluten-free treats I've ever had. Thank you, Girl Scouts, for being allergy inclusive!

★★★☆

08

Trefoils/Shortbread

This may be controversial to all the shortbread-lovers, but they're kind of just Thanks-A-Lots without the chocolate. And I really want the chocolate. Shortbread is great, don't get me wrong, but there are better options.

★★★☆☆

09

S'mores

I know there are two types of S'mores, but let's be honest here: they're both just . . . fine. I think I'd rather have a s'more that was made around a campfire. There are certain things you look for in a Girl Scout Cookie, and these just don't have that special flair.

★★★☆☆

10

Toffee-tastic

The gluten-free Toffee-tastics are delicious, but they're at the bottom of this list simply because they're very crumbly, making them a little harder to snack on. The toffee also has a habit of sticking to your teeth, so you may want to eat these over the sink at home.
