PB&J, Who? Smucker's Is Releasing Savory Taco Uncrustables and Sandwich Roll-Ups
Back in the days of trading carrot sticks for oranges and Twinkies for homemade cookies, I never would have imagined one of my friends whipping out a taco-flavored Uncrustable from their Lisa Frank lunchbox, but here we are. Smucker's released bite-size Uncrustables in two flavors, Taco and BBQ Chicken, as well as two sandwich-inspired Uncrustables Roll-Ups: Turkey & Colby Jack and Uncured Ham & Cheddar. Spotted at Target by Instagram foodie @candyhunting, the new products put a savory spin on the brand's classic peanut butter and jelly, so no trade-backs.
The savory bite-size Uncrustables are available for $4 in the freezer section, with three twin packs per box, and can easily be reheated for a midday snack. Available for $5 per box, the Roll-Ups, which offer three packs of four per box, just need to be thawed before serving. Here's what you can expect inside each new lunchtime treat:
- Taco Bites: filled with beef crumble, cheese, salsa, and taco seasoning
- BBQ Chicken Bites: filled with all-white-meat chicken and barbecue sauce
- Uncured Ham & Cheddar Roll-Ups: made with uncured ham, cheddar cheese, and Neufchâtel cheese rolled in a flatbread
- Turkey & Colby Jack Roll-Ups: made with smokey turkey breast, Colby cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, Neufchâtel cheese, and seasoning rolled in flatbread
