I Tried Trader Joe's New Coffee Peanut-Butter Beer, and Fair Warning: It's Nutty!

It looks like your run-of-the-mill dark beer, but looks can be deceiving! Inhaling my glass, it took me a while to pinpoint the scent. My first impression is a strong coffee and nut scent, not necessarily peanut butter, though. The best way I can describe it is it smells like hazelnut-flavored coffee.

After taking a sip, I was happy to find that it's a nice, smooth dark beer with a caramel-y coffee-nut flavor. The rich porter pairs well with the flavor combination, and it isn't overly sweet.
