I Tried All of Starbucks's Nitro Cold Brews With Sweet Cream — Here's the Best of the Best

There's nothing quite like a nitro cold brew. Though similar to a regular cold brew in flavor and caffeine level, nitro cold brew is infused with nitrous gas and served on draft. The result? An amazing, smooth, creamy, and delicious experience — perfect for when you need a little extra boost in the morning.

Though nitro cold brew is relatively new to the coffee scene, Starbucks is certainly not late to the game. Currently, it offers seven variations of nitro cold brew — yes, seven! — and I've tried them all to let you know which ones are the best. Of course, Starbucks has plain nitro, but it's also taken it up a notch and added flavored sweet foam to create different flavor profiles. Whether you enjoy something a little more sweet or bitter, there's a nitro cold brew with flavored foam that can do the trick.

Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew

This one really exceeded my expectations. The salted caramel cream is thick, sweet, and just a little salty, but it mixes perfectly into the coffee. The flavors all complement each other so well, and each sip was as delicious as the last. The Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew is definitely my favorite out of them all!

I was expecting this one to be my favorite, and it was only narrowly beat out by the salted caramel cream one. I love pumpkin, and Starbucks never disappoints with its pumpkin flavors. My only complaint with this one is that the foam doesn't blend in with the coffee as well, so it sits on top and makes the sips a bit uneven. Otherwise, the foam itself is subtly sweet with a hint of pumpkin spice flavor — perfect for enjoying on a fall day!

Nitro Cold Brew

Plain nitro cold brew holds a special place in my heart. I remember trying it for the first time and immediately being taken with how smooth and creamy it is. I place plain nitro pretty high in my ranking, but if you prefer something with more sweetness, I definitely recommend going for an option with flavored foam.

Nitro Cold Brew With Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam

Nitro Cold Brew With Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam

I'm a big fan of oat milk and cinnamon, so unsurprisingly, I really liked this one. It isn't the sweetest option, and the foam adds just a subtle flavor to the coffee itself. Overall, though, I did enjoy the sips that gave me that oat milk flavor. (Note: not all Starbucks locations have oat milk in their stores just yet, so you may have to enjoy the other options before trying this one.)

This one is a great option if you enjoy a little sweetness in your coffee without any extra flavors. I really like this one, as it embraces the flavors of the nitro itself while also complementing them with the sweet foam. I ended up taking a spoon and stirring in the foam a little bit, which helped even out the foam-to-coffee ratio and made each sip an enjoyable one!

I had high hopes for this one, but it was ultimately a little bit bland. Almond milk has a pretty mild flavor, and I could have gone for more cinnamon as well. Overall, I think it's great for people who really like almond milk, but if I were to order it again, I'd probably get a couple pumps of cinnamon dolce syrup in the coffee itself.

Nitro Cold Brew With Dark Cocoa Almondmilk Foam

Rounding out my list is none other than this dark cocoa almond milk option. I personally don't care for dark chocolate, but I went into this drink with an open mind. Unfortunately, the dark cocoa is quite bitter, and paired with coffee, it's even more bitter. Of course, if you enjoy these flavors, then you will probably really like this one!
