Need to add personality to your space? We've partnered with actress Sutton Foster and HomeGoods to share tips for sprucing up any room.
Actress Sutton Foster is no stranger to spending hours on end in dressing rooms. She turned to Julien Havard, her dresser and BFF, for tips on how to add personal touches to any dressing room so she could feel right at home. Adding unique finds from HomeGoods is all it takes.
1. Make Multitasking Pieces Work Hard
Poufs serve as both beautiful accent pieces as well as practical, easily movable furniture, making them perfect for small spaces.
2. Contain It
Use containers to keep everything in order. Decorative boxes, trays, baskets, and vases give you more free space in the room.
3. Light It Up
Bring in lots of lamps to make any room feel expansive with secondary lighting.
4. Climb the Walls
When floor space is at a premium, don't forget to utilize the walls. Bookshelves and racks can create vertical spaces that house an assortment of items. Create bulletin boards where you can display cards, photos, and bits of inspiration at eye level.
5. Get Down on It
The floor is one of Sutton and Julien's favorite places to hang and entertain. She stretches there between dance numbers, they nap there, and sometimes they even entertain there. To make your floor space feel and look ultra appealing, get a cozy patterned rug and have loads of pillows on hand.
