DIY Eiffel Tower View
The Mind-Blowing Hack That Got 1 Man a Perfect View of the Eiffel Tower
A good view can transform the way you feel about your space, so if you could greatly improve it with a DIY project, wouldn't you? One Frenchman did just that, and now he has a gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower from his bed (nope, the tower really isn't right outside of his window). "I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower from my bed so I made a giant periscope with two mirrors in order to shift the view from my window," Imgur user Lurluberlu explained in his post. Basically, his creative mind and handiwork skills allowed him to take a far-away view of the Eiffel Tower and make it appear as if it were right outside of his place. Keep reading to see how the project came together (you can watch his video here), and if you're feeling crafty, try out some DIY projects for your own home.
1 This is the view before the project. Not bad! But seeing the Eiffel Tower would be even better.
2 So, this is how the mastermind envisioned the project — the two mirrors act like a giant periscope.
3 With the necessary materials at hand, he got started.
4 First, he glued large mirrors on water-resistant marine wood.
5 Next, he screwed in anticorrosion screws.
6 He glued square blocks of wood to the windows to be sure they were nice and sturdy.
7 "I used a flexible piece of wood to apply strength between the facing blocks while the glue dries," he explained.
8 Then he screwed the mirrors inside the blocks . . .
9 And voilà — Eiffel Tower view!
10 Waking up and falling asleep to this every day wouldn't be too shabby, right?
