Use of Greenery

Not only is the use of greenery a hot wedding trend for 2017, but it is also the most popular color for 2017 as far as design is concerned! Amanda Hansen of Decoration Inc. says, "With the Pantone color of the year, we are seeing lots of floral design that is predominantly greens, leaves, etc., with minimal blooms. Potted plants, herbs, and mosses also work into this look easily."

Metallic Flatware

This year, we are positive you will be seeing tons of metallic flatware put to good use! Sojourner Auguste of Erganic Design says, "Clients are loving the mixing of silvers, golds, and rose golds with flatware and rimmed stemware." This resurgence of mixed metals clearly isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Extralong Tables

Thought long tables were so last year? Think again! The girls from Gather Events say, "Long tables are definitely still making a statement! Our brides and grooms are still loving the family-style dinner, and we do too! There's something completely magical and intimate about sharing a celebratory meal with friends and family around a long, inclusive dining table."

Leigh Pearce from Leigh Pearce Events is all about the floral chandeliers or "chandys" for 2017. She says, "Blow your guests away the moment they walk in the door with an over-the-top floral chandelier. We love seeing hanging floral installations over guest tables, the dance floor, a bar . . . you name it!"

Patterned Tableware

Sojourner from Erganic Design also predicts that patterned tableware will be all the rage this coming wedding season. "We're seeing layering of patterns and textures used in the table settings. Lots of floral patterns (chargers and dinner plates as the base), layered with textured bone/ivory patterns (salad/dessert plates) on top."

Tropical Bouquets

Amanda from Decoration Inc. also suggests incorporating a tropical flair when it comes to your wedding bouquets for yourself and your maids. She says, "[Tropical blooms] add a unique shape and texture to complement traditional blooms such as roses, hydrangea, and tulips."

Natural Tabletop Elements

Natural decorative elements will also be a big must have at 2017 weddings. Decoration Inc.'s Amanda advises to "think marble vessels, brass vases, stone votives, wood bread boards. This is an easy way to give a warm, textured feeling to a tabletop." Or simply go all out with a lively pair of antlers!

Mixed Metals

Mixed Metals

Flatware isn't the only way for couples-to-be to implement the latest trend of mixing and matching metals. The gals at Gather Events say, "Couples are increasingly willing to be playful with metallics and colors alike, incorporating bold accent colors and their accompanying softer hues. Monochrome palettes are [also] making a comeback, and we're seeing decor pieces tinted in various shades of one color."

Pattern Mixing

Other years may have been all about the matchy-matchy trend, but 2017 is showing a huge push toward pattern mixing. Amanda from Decoration Inc. also shares that another big trend is "mixing patterns on the tabletop. Also seen on the runways, mixing patterns add lots of layers and texture to a tabletop."

And if you aren't sure how to incorporate this new style, Amanda says to "pair a printed floral linen with a complementary striped or other small pattern in the napkin."

Unique Lighting

Unique Lighting

Leigh from Leigh Pearce Events also recommends adding some unique lighting to really make your special day one-of-a-kind. "Image mapping is the hottest new trend and, like any lighting, makes a HUGE impact. Project a pattern on the outside of your venue as guests arrive or on the dance floor for the ultimate wow factor."

Colorblocking

Colorblocking

Amanda from Decoration Inc. has one more piece of wedding decor advice, and that is simply colorblocking (which she clarifies is different from ombré). She says she's been "seeing a lot of colorblocking on runways in the fashion world. It allows for unique color combos and a modern look."

Textured Linens

Textured Linens

Sara Fried of Fête Nashville pinpoints textured linens as being another elegant trend for this year. She says, "Luxurious, textured linens are coming back, baby! We had a great run with farm tables of all colors, but I am excited for all the new linens coming out — from organic, natural linens to metallic sequins . . . so much fun!"

Negative Space

Negative Space

As the saying goes, sometimes less is more, and in 2017, this is definitely ringing true! Leigh from Leigh Pearce Events told us to "scale back on the amount of things that 'must' go on your tables. Favors? Put them on a table in the foyer as guests exit. Coffee cups and saucers? Request that your caterer set this up as a station instead. Your beautiful florals and linens will shine so much more!"

Simple Floral Arrangements

Simple Floral Arrangements

In years past, the trend has been the bigger the better when it comes to flower arrangements, but not anymore! Adina Franconi of Hoopla! Events says, "Simple floral arrangements or none at all. Gone are the days of extravagant centerpieces, and in will come bud vases or strictly candles. Less is more."

Blush With a Twist

Blush With a Twist

The color blush may not be anything new, but implementing this soft hue with a twist will be perfect for a 2017 wedding. Leigh from Leigh Pearce Events recommends to "take the classic blush and bashful color palette and add in bold accents like burgundy and persimmon or French blue and mustard yellow."

Classic Invitations

Classic Invitations

And with all of the latest trends, don't forget that classic statements can still make the most beautiful impact of all. Antonia Christianson of Antonia Christianson Events says, "While timeless looks never go out of style, we are noticing a lot of classic white invitations with a beautiful scripted black font."
