Online Retailer Wayfair Just Opened Its First Physical Store, and It's Decor Heaven

Wayfair

It's official: Wayfair's first physical store is open! The popular online home retailer opened its first ever brick and mortar store in the Natick Mall in Natick, MA, on Aug. 21, and it's the first time since the company's debut in 2002 that its merchandise has been available in a physical store.

The store will function like a typical furniture and decor store, with a large selection of items available in store, as well as the ability to shop the online catalog and have furniture and other items shipped to your home. The store features item displays for inspiration, as well as digital styling tools that allow shoppers to virtually "style" a room in their own homes to preview how items might look in their own spaces. "Consumers can visit the Wayfair store for inspiration, select from hundreds of items available off-the-shelf, and shop Wayfair's full catalog of 14 million products across every style and price point, all with the helpful support of trusted design consultants at every step," Wayfair's chief product and marketing officer Ed Macri told House Beautiful.

Macri's statement also highlights another cool feature of the in-person Wayfair store: real-life professional design consultants. The store offers complimentary design consultations from its team of professional stylists and designers, so if you've ever spotted a cute piece that you'd love to have in your home but have no idea how to tie it all together, you can now get design advice straight from the experts! It's an added level of service to Wayfair's existing brand.

The Natick location is currently the only long-term physical Wayfair store, but the retailer also has a handful of pop-up stores this Fall. Four other locations are temporarily open until Oct. 31: Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL; the Streets at Southpoint in Durham, NC; the King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, PA; and Tysons Corner Center in Tysons, VA. No word yet on whether Wayfair will continue to open physical stores, but if you're near one of these locations, it's definitely something you can't miss out on!
