Camila Cabello's Album Will Be About Her "Journey From Darkness Into Light"

Since Camila Cabello's departure from Fifth Harmony in 2016, fans have eagerly awaited her impending career apart from the group. Though Camila released a ubiquitous song with Machine Gun Kelly, "Bad Things," she had yet to release any singles or divulge any details about her forthcoming solo album. On May 15, that changed.

On Twitter, Camila shared an impassioned letter about her upcoming album titled The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving. In her letter, she also referred to an upcoming single which will be titled "I Have Questions." In addition, the album will seemingly address her split from Fifth Harmony.

Camila explained, "The story behind the album starts with the second song that you'll hear called 'I have questions' which I started writing in a hotel bathroom on tour a little over a year ago. I was completely broken during that time." She added, "I couldn't write another song for 6 months because writing meant I had to feel everything, and I wasn't ready to do that yet."

That being said, the highly anticipated album will also include upbeat songs. "As I got happier and happier, I realized the songs were getting happier and happier," Camila wrote. "I wasn't making music just to make an album anymore, I was making this music to heal." Thus, her album title is a nod to the emotional cycle she underwent while working on her debut project and finding her voice in the process.

The day after her big announcement, Camila shared three quick-moving snaps from what appears to be an upcoming music video. As her caption implies, the music video release will coincide with the song's release on May 19.

Later that day, Camila revealed that her debut single is titled "Crying in the Club." The single's emotional album art depicts the 20-year-old singer in tears.
