Demi Lovato totally delivered on her last-minute headlining gig at this year's Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Sept. 24.

The "Body Say" singer has been outspoken about her support for LGBTQ rights, even canceling tour dates in North Carolina after an oppressive "bathroom law" was passed, so it's no wonder she used her time on stage to advocate for gender equality in the best way possible, as in, with a cover of Aretha Franklin's iconic song "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman."

"Thank you global citizens, especially all of you who are working toward the goal of gender equality and standing up for women and girls everywhere. This next song is inspired and it [has been] lifting up women for years, even since before I was born, and it still does," Demi told the audience before announcing her timely song choice and unleashing her always-amazing vocals.
