Lauren Jauregui Comes Out as Bisexual in a Post-Election Open Letter to Trump Supporters

Rumors surrounding Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui's sexuality swirled following Perez Hilton's decision to tweet a photo on Nov. 14 of the Cuban-American singer kissing Carlos Vives's daughter, Lucy Vives, at a mutual friend's wedding.
Though Lauren didn't immediately comment on the leaked private photos — or her sexual orientation — she officially put the questions to rest in a post-election open letter to Donald Trump supporters on Nov. 18.
In the letter, which was published on Billboard, Lauren relays a sincere message to those who voted for President-elect Trump on Nov. 8, simultaneously acknowledging the rumors and coming out as bisexual in the process.
"I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it," she wrote midway through the beautifully raw piece. "I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another. I am proud to be the granddaughter and daughter of immigrants who were brave enough to leave their homes and come to a whole new world with a different language and culture and immerse themselves fearlessly to start a better life for themselves and their families."
Beautiful! Lauren's decision to open up about her sexuality and pen such an inspiring, thought-provoking piece comes at an uncertain time in our nation's politics in which both Latinx and LGBTQ rights are potentially at risk. To read the full-length letter, head over to Billboard.
