Lupita Nyong'o Spills the Beans About Star Wars, Eats Chilaquiles in Her Latest Interview
We bet Lupita Nyong'o didn't think that her interview on Univision's Despierta América would be this eventful. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Mexican-born actress stopped by the morning show on Dec. 10 to promote her new movie with Guatemalan-Cuban costar Oscar Isaac and ended up giving a little more insight into her secretive role in the movie and even eating a few bites of Mexican food.
During the sitdown portion of the chat with host Alan Tacher, Lupita revealed (in perfect Spanish, by the way) that she feels like the movie and saga are "bigger than all of us" and said her pirate character, Maz Kanata, "has lived for a long time, and owns a bar," where she joked maybe tequila is sold. Later on in the show, Lupita and Oscar excitedly snacked on Mexican chilaquiles and flautas and Guatemalan tamales — Lupita looked flawless in her white jumpsuit even then, in case you were wondering.
