Queen Letizia looked like a true ray of sunshine during the first day of the official state visit to the United Kingdom. The Spanish Royal and her husband, King Felipe VI, are on a three-day trip to show the friendly relationship between Spain and the UK.

Of course this is a very important trip for diplomacy, but all of our focus was on what Queen Letizia wore. She took everyone by surprise when she stepped out in a yellow ensemble by one of her favorite designers, Felipe Varela. Letizia wore a lemon-colored dress with a tweed coat, but it's the lace hem that we couldn't look away from. The lace detail on both pieces helps bring the whole look together. Letizia also wore a chapeau for the first time since becoming Queen in June 2014. She finished off her look with a pair of nude patent leather Prada pumps and pearl and yellow gold earrings.
