Rosalía Is Manicure Goals, and These Photos Prove It

When you think of Rosalía, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously her great music. Rosalía has become a phenomenon that is taking over the world; she gained stardom in the music scene with her 2018 single "Malamente," catapulting her to international fame. The Spanish singer does a great job mixing traditional flamenco with electronic beats and urban rhythms that produce a dramatic, eclectic, and romantic sound.

However, she's become notorious for her perfectly manicured nails — long and flashy, encrusted with stones, and complementing her outfits. If you follow Rosalía on Instagram, you'll notice how much she loves getting a fresh mani, as she posts her blinged-out sets in her stories. She even said in an interview with The New York Times that her nails make her feel powerful while performing.

She paid homage to her love of nails in her music video for "Aute Cuture." The song depicts a confident young woman who has overcome heartbreak and projects her strength through a passion for fashion and personal style. In the video, you can see that her nails are a big part of it, with a latex-clad gang rolling into town in custom rides and reinvigorating everyone with a dose of glamour by giving bejeweled manicures to the residents.

If you ask me, that's a big reason I love getting my nails done. While mine are never as blinged out as Rosalía's, it does make me feel powerful — even invincible — and I consider my nails a very big aspect of my overall look. Maybe it's a Hispanic thing. When my mother allowed me to get manicures, she also taught me that I have to keep up with them, and I would go as far as to have a bottle of the same color I had on in case it chipped, so I could fix it and my nails would always look on point.

Eventually, I started experimenting more with my nails, growing them out, sometimes adding designs, and sometimes bedazzling them — although not at Rosalía's level. However, just like Rosalía, my nails have become a source of confidence and power and just like her song says, "Que te las clavo, niño, ten cuidao!"
