When I think of Pitbull, I think of the slickest man in Miami, with perfectly tailored suits, a lot of swag, and numerous collaborations that have made songs chart beyond what was expected of them. He's Mr. 305, Mr. Worldwide, and the unofficial mayor of Miami. But Pitbull is also committed to improving the world.
Whether it's with his Little Havana-based charter school project, SLAM (Sports Leadership Arts and Management), designed to give opportunity to disadvantaged urban youths; supporting the Miami-based Nicklaus Children's Hospital; or helping the Imaginate Foundation, which provides resources for low-income families, Pitbull gives back.
He turned his life from negative to positive, as he sings in "Give Me Everything," and now he wants us to do the same during these unfortunate times. To encourage us, he released his new anthem, "I Believe That We Will Win." "The world needs to believe that we will win this," he said in an interview with People en Español, "not only believe it, but know that we will fight and show how strong we are."
Over the track's opening bars, he says: "You know what spreads faster than any virus? Is fear. And when it comes to fear, you can either forget everything and run, or you can face everything and rise."
All proceeds from the song will be donated to various charities around the world aiding coronavirus relief efforts, such as Feeding America and The Tony Robbins Foundation. Pitbull told People en Español that he's trying to get involved with organizations that are finding solutions to fight future pandemics because this might not be the last one and we need to be prepared.
In the meantime, he wants everyone to show how much we believe things will get better by being a part of the song's music video. Pitbull is calling students, medical workers, first responders, parents, grandparents, and everyone from all over the world to go to BelieveAnthem2020.com and submit a video of themselves dancing to "I Believe That We Will Win."
