Ryan Gosling Tweets an Adorable Response to Eva Mendes's Sweatpants Comment

We should all be listening to Eva Mendes; her baby daddy is Ryan Gosling. The actress spoke to Extra about life at home with new baby Esmeralda, but her most shining piece of advice was about her relationship. When it comes to keeping Gosling happy, she has one major rule.

"You can't do sweatpants . . . ladies, number one cause of divorce in America, sweatpants, no!"

People reacted strongly to this statement, but luckily both Ryan and Eva took to Twitter and Instagram to clear things up regarding Sweatpantsgate. Everyone, breathe easily again . . . it was just a joke! But you may want to get rid of any pairs of orange Crocs you own.

Obviously sweatpants thing was a joke. Wearing them now. That's right, tweeting in sweatpants. Rats! Said too much! You win again Twitter.

Dear favorite pair of sweatpants. I was just kidding when I said you're the #1 cause of divorce. Everyone knows that orange crocs are the #1 cause of divorce. Either way it was a bad joke and feel terrible if you or anyone thought I was serious. Thanks for understanding sweatpants. Sorry orange crocs.
