Safe sex has never been more stylish. Condom startup Lovability relaunched and redesigned its brand in September into a loud and proud representation of female power. And now, they're showing their support for Planned Parenthood by donating a condom with every purchase. Lovability's mantra for these efforts: "Our p*ssy, our choice. Our body, our voice."
The company first began in 2014 to help women feel more confident buying and carrying condoms. Its mission continues two years later to defy the assumption that condom-carrying women are promiscuous and empowers us to take control of our sexual health.
Not only are Lovability's all-natural condoms cute enough to want to show off, but each tin also features phrases: "Talk feminist to me," "I want it all," and "Babe with the power."
"These condoms are more than contraception; they're a tool for communication," said Lovability President Tiffany Gaines. "It's time to put an end to being slut-shamed for valuing our bodies, and for having the confidence to assert control."
In addition to its new line of feminist condoms, the company also released what every woman should carry in her purse: "F*ckboy Repellent." According to its site, the definition of a f*ckboy is: "Any male-identified person who uses sexist language, homophobic or racial slurs, participates in slut-shaming or any combination thereof. Keep an eye out for casual misogynists, dudes who think rape jokes are funny, bad graphic T's and bros who struggle to take 'no' for an answer."
We all know a few of those.
The next time you come across one, spray away disrespecting guys with the repellent that consists of water, nontoxic gold glitter, and vegetable oil.
"Our mission is for women to get what they want in life, and repel what they don't," Tiffany said. And that's something we can definitely get behind.
