This Woman With Cancer Posed For a Boudoir Photo Shoot — and It's Incredibly Empowering

Woman With Cancer Poses in Boudoir Photos

When Haydee saw that her friend Heather was posting photos of her clients having boudoir pictures taken, she thought it was beautiful. Heather, a makeup artist who works with Chamberlin Photography, then encouraged Haydee to take some photos herself. Originally from Venezuela, Haydee was diagnosed with malignant astrocytoma — a brain tumor — in 2010. She had surgery that same year to remove the tumor, but it eventually grew back. She now endures cycles of chemotherapy on a regular basis.

Haydee is a mother and a grandmother. "She is just like you and me, in so many ways," Mary of Chamberlin Photography said. "I have come to know this remarkable woman as intelligent, caring, and very funny." Haydee wanted her Flutter session to be about feeling beautiful, glamorous, and a little sexy. "She was amazing to work with and I feel so very honored to have been chosen to capture her in such an intimate way."

The resulting images are both empowering and inspiring. "I thought I could inspire others by showing that life is beautiful no matter what we are going through," Haydee said. "I would say to another woman that if they have an opportunity like this in front of them, they should not hesitate."

Keep looking to see how all of Haydee's incredible boudoir photos turned out.
