This Icelandic Elopement Is Otherworldly and Wonderful

"Location, location, location" has long been the go-to mantra for real estate, but one couple decided that it's also a great mindset to have about about weddings. When planning their large, traditional ceremony in the Midwest state of Ohio, betrothed couple Sarah and Josh felt indescribably uneasy. They weighed the pros and cons of a large wedding and decided to do something a bit unorthodox. In the thick of it all, the two decided to shirk tradition and elope to Iceland; the only guest at their lava field nuptials was photographer Gabe McClintock, who made Sarah and Josh's wedding dreams come true by capturing every moment of their exquisite day.

In an interview with Junebug Weddings, the bride shared the couple's priorities when deciding how they wanted to exchange vows, stating: "Seriously, if you want to elope, do it. Out of all the regrets you will have in life, your wedding day should not be one of them." The couple left behind premarital stress in exchange for privacy on their big day, surrounded by the alien beauty of Icelandic nature, and don't regret it in the slightest.
