We Can't Get Enough of These Colorful East Coast Engagement Photos

On the day of couple Kristan and Kevin's engagement shoot in downtown Baltimore, it nearly rained. The morning was "so cloudy," said photographer Erika Layne.

"The minute our stars showed up for their shoot, [though], the clouds broke and the sun came shining through," Erika said. "Much like Kristan and Kevin, this session was meant to be!"

To start, Kristan and Kevin shared a bite at the vibrant and quirky Papermoon Diner on W. 29th St. Next up, the group headed to the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens for a picnic.

"We can't even begin to name everything we saw — cacti, banana trees, and the most amazing orchid room," Erika said. "Though, by far, everyone's favorite wing of the Conservatory was the Palm house, which was built in 1888. There was so much beauty and history . . . and not just in the Palm House, but in the entire shoot."

The rich details were everything: Kevin wore his great-great-grandfather's antique pocket watch, and Kristan wore a vintage-inspired dress. The final cherry on top was one sweet discovery made at the end of the day.

"At the close of the shoot, we found the cutest birdhouse nestled at the bottom of a tree," Erika said. "In retrospect, each location really captured the spirits of both Kevin and Kristan. Kevin is funky, colorful, and fun, and Kristan is like a delicate flower, beautiful both inside and out."
