An adaptation of Jane Austen's famous 1813 romance novel, Pride and Prejudice tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley), one of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet's five eligible daughters. As her mother works feverishly to marry her off, she encounters a new arrival to town, Fitzwilliam Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen), and takes an immediate disliking to him, claiming him to be proud and rude. While the two try to distance themselves, the lives of their friends and family intertwine, forcing them to not only interact but to also overlook first impressions as their feelings change. Donald Sutherland, Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Jena Malone, Brenda Blethyn, and Judi Dench also star in this classic tale of money, marriage, and manners in pre-Victorian Britain.
