The Bride Wore Shimmering Stars at This Shakespeare-Inspired Wedding

Even though William Shakespeare published Romeo and Juliet in the 16th century, the iconic play has stood the test of time and inspired a whole range of work from paintings to movies to wedding themes. Photographer Sabrina Klomp definitely felt a creative impulse to channel the famous couple in this styled wedding shoot that took place at the Higuera Ranch in San Luis Obispo, CA.

"The concept for the shoot was a modern twist on Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet," Sabrina said. "With moody blues, gold accents, and inspiration from stars and constellations, the shoot created a youthful, romantic setting for today's young-at-heart bride and groom." The bride wore a peach-tone gown with metallic stars embroidered on it — a nod to the famous quote from the chorus of the play that refers to the couple as "a pair of star-cross'd lovers." The groom looked handsome in a black suit with long hair that is parted to the side, which is reminiscent of the Shakespearean era. The shoot also incorporated stunning decor that included vibrant flowers, long candles, and gothic tableware.
