If you set your alarm to go off earlier than normal on the morning of Aug. 28, it's likely because you — like us — are anticipating the return of Starbucks's Pumpkin Spice Latte. The thick, frothy bevvie is a perennial favorite, and we can't wait to wrap our hands around this beloved seasonal sip.

But what will you do with your little one during your next Starbucks jaunt when they ask to have their own? Can they have one too? We took this question to registered dietitian Amanda Baker Lemein, MS, RD, LDN. See what recommendations she has ahead.

According to Starbucks, a grande PSL with whipped cream has 380 calories and 150 mg. of caffeine.

Tweak the order for the young ones. "For teens, I would recommend asking for decaf espresso, low-fat milk, only one pump of syrup, and no whipped cream," suggested Lemein. Get even more creative with the order if you have a child on your hands who wants one. "If the child is very young, skip the espresso and do steamed low-fat milk with one pump of the syrup to make a kid-friendly version."

That sounds so tasty, we may just order it for ourselves when we don't want the caffeine.
