Bernie Sanders Just Did the Most Bernie Sanders Thing Ever

Bernie Sanders reinforced his persona as a man of the people by walking a picket line of Verizon workers in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning. Almost 36,000 Verizon workers across the country are protesting jobs being outsourced to countries like the Philippines, among other complaints. This is the largest strike in the United States since 45,000 Verizon workers picketed in 2011, according to CNN.

The cable network captured Sanders shaking hands with the workers on Wednesday.

Sanders has long been an advocate of labor unions. Earlier on Wednesday, the Transport Workers Union Local 100, which represents 42,000 workers in New York, endorsed him for president.
