Donald Trump's doctor is basically the human version of the shrug emoticon: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. In a new interview with STAT, Harold Bornstein said that if Trump died on the job, well — no big deal.
"If something happens to him, then it happens to him," Bornstein said. "It's like all the rest of us, no? That's why we have a vice president and a speaker of the House and a whole line of people. They can just keep dying."
Bornstein, age 69, shot to the spotlight during the election when he issued a letter saying Trump would "be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency" despite being the oldest president in history at age 70 and his well-documented love of fast food.
The doctor also told STAT he didn't know if he'd be asked to serve as Trump's primary physician in the White House. Read the full interview that's filled with other gems, including how people respond when they recognize Bornstein as Trump's physician.
