- With one week to go before Election Day, polls are positioning Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump closer than they have been in the last month. An ABC News and Washington Post poll has the candidates tied with 45 percent of the vote, which is all the more reason to vote on Nov. 8. Clinton's poll slide comes after FBI Director James Comey's announcement that the bureau was investigating more emails related to Clinton's private server. The emails were uncovered during the FBI's investigation of Anthony Weiner, husband to Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin.
- In other election news, Paul Ryan doesn't seem to care that Donald Trump has repeatedly insulted his leadership. In a show of solidarity with the Republican party, Speaker Paul Ryan said he already voted for the party's nominee. But Governor John Kasich, Trump's one-time opponent, refused to vote for him and wrote in Senator John McCain instead.
- What else should the country care about? A gas line that exploded in Alabama on Tuesday morning. The pipeline's rupture killed one person and injured five. This is the second time since September that the so-called Colonial Pipeline has closed, triggering a potential hike in gas prices along the East Coast. The gas line's oil is used by roughly 50 million people from Houston to New York City, according to CNN.
- Speaking of disasters, Bill Cosby's day of reckoning is upon us. The comedian will appear in court today for preliminary hearings about admissible evidence. Steven O'Neill, the judge in the Pennsylvania trial, will decide one piece of evidence that could change the outcome of the case: a recorded deposition of Cosby admitting to obtaining drugs that he would give to women he wanted to sleep with. O'Neill will also decide if the prosecution can use 13 other accusations against Cosby as evidence.
