A jury awarded Hulk Hogan $115 million in damages, bringing an end to a sex-tape lawsuit against Gawker Media, according to the AP. Reports from the courtroom claim there will be $55 million in economic injuries and $60 million in emotional distress. Gawker owner Nick Denton and former editor AJ Daulerio were reportedly held personally liable. In 2012, Gawker Media posted a 90-second clip of Hulk Hogan having sex with the wife of his then-friend Bubba the Love Sponge in 2007. Hogan maintained he did not know he was being filmed. The case will be appealed and could reach the Supreme Court on First Amendment grounds. The large judgment puts the future of Gawker Media in question.
