Michelle Obama appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Tuesday night and finally addressed the drama over Melania Trump plagiarizing parts of Michelle's 2008 DNC speech during this year's RNC. Colbert asked Michelle if she had any sympathy for Melania since other people likely wrote her speech. Michelle smiled before responding, "Yeah, that was tough."

The first lady also responded to Colbert's question about whether she had sympathy for spouses who have to stand by their running mates. "No, because you have to be in it if you're in it," she said. "Bottom line, if I didn't agree with what Barack was saying, I would not support his run. So, I stand there proudly and I hope they are, too, standing by their spouses proudly."

The clip ended with the two chatting about the importance of Michelle's Let Girls Learn initiative to promote education for girls worldwide.
