8 Swedish Women Just Expertly Trolled the Trump Administration With 1 Photo

The Swedish climate minister and seven other women expertly shaded President Donald Trump on Friday. Deputy Minister Isabella Lövin shared a photo of herself enacting progressive environmental legislation that called to mind a similar image Trump shared in late January.

But there's a distinct difference between these signing photos: Lövin is surrounded solely by women in hers, while Trump was surrounded only by men in his. The contrast is especially notable since in Trump's photo, he was signing an order which primarily affected women. In the image, he is seen reinstating the "global gag rule," which prohibits federal aid from going to nonprofits that discuss abortion.

Lövin's jab was double-sided given Trump's denial of climate change. The policy she signed ventured to cut Sweden's greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2045. According to The Guardian, Lövin told reporters "the position we hear from the new [US] administration is worrying."

In response to Trump's pledge to invest in fossil fuels, much like their progressive and self-described "feminist government," Lövin hopes Sweden will lead the charge in combating climate change now that "the US is not there anymore to lead."
