This Teen's Prom Dress Honors 15 Black Victims of Police Brutality

One teen decided to make a powerful statement with her prom dress — and it's a message no one will forget for years. Milan Bolden-Morris, a 17-year-old high school student, wore a prom dress with the faces of 15 black victims of police brutality.

The dress included the faces of such victims as Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, and Tamir Rice. It was created by Terrence Torrence, a Florida-based designer. It took Torrence three days to create the dress, reports BuzzFeed. The two collaborated together after Torrence designed Bolden-Morris's cousin's wedding dress. According to Torrence, the dress has the faces of 15 victims.

Bolden-Morris is proud to have worn such a dress to the Pahokee High School's prom. "When someone loses a mother, father or child in unnecessary circumstances, it should not be overlooked but addressed," she said to CNN. The high school senior will be attending Boston College on a full ride to play basketball and will be premed.

The dress originally went viral when Bolden-Morris tweeted a photo of the dress. It currently has more than 1,000 retweets and 2,000 "likes." She also posted about it on Instagram and that post has more than 15,000 "likes." The dress is so popular that even Snoop Dogg posted an Instagram about it.

The dress clearly sent a powerful message that's resonated with plenty of people on the internet.
