Woman Writes to Newspaper About Men's Comments on Abortion

Woman Shuts Down Men Who Oppose Abortion in a Short but Epic Letter

Are you a man against abortion? Heidi Seltz doesn't want to hear from you.

Following the Supreme Court's historic decision that found Texas's restrictive abortion law unconstitutional, the Minneapolis Star Tribune ran two stories by antiabortion men.

A woman named Heidi Seltz then wrote a letter to the newspaper, asking the editors not to publish men's "fusty opinions about uteri." She had a message for the men, too: "Unless you have a woman's body, I don't want to hear your opinion on what women's bodies should or should not do."

Seltz's letter was tweeted by Stacey Burns, a social media outreach manager at Rewire News, and has since gone viral with more than 3,500 retweets and 6,000 favorites. The message might have been directed at a newspaper's editorial board, but it also applies to states where male lawmakers are actively trying to pass antiabortion laws and endanger women's reproductive health.
