What These Cops Did For a Nesting Mama Bird Will Make You Smile

When Parma, OH, police discovered a mourning dove nesting in one of their police cars a couple months back, they stepped up to help her. The mama bird, who was nicknamed Gerty by the police officers, made a nest in the windshield well of one of the cars and laid two eggs in it, according to Fox 8 News. When her nest was discovered, officers taped an umbrella over her head for protection and put caution tape around the car. These good people even went as far as bringing Gerty water and worms they dug up.
