This Firehouse Dog Got a Second Chance at Life After Being Rescued From a Burning Building

Looking at Jake the Hanahan, SC, firehouse dog now, you can't really tell the rough life he once had. When he was just a pup, Jake nearly died in a shed fire before being rescued by firefighters. Even worse, his family abandoned him after that. Luckily, Jake was rescued by firefighters again! This time, William Lindler and the Hanahan Fire Department adopted him to be their official mascot and firehouse dog. When he's not hanging out at the firehouse, he travels to schools to help the firefighters teach kids about fire safety — and make them smile. The town's city council even officially swore in Jake as a full-fledged member of the fire department. To keep up with Jake's life at the firehouse, follow his Facebook page.
