When I'm working from home, I'd call it my favorite perk; the silent boost of momentum that keeps me going. And while this is probably a relatable experience for any pet parent, I'm about to bring you even more peace of mind. Buffy's new Orthopedic Pet Bed isn't just a soft landing spot for your cat(s) or dog(s), it's also a supportive one, which is great for animals prone to joint pain or weak muscles.
Imagine this design like a miniature mattress — it has three packed layers, with one for comfort, one with CertiPUR-US-certified foam, and one with gel memory foam. It even has a pillow that straps around the surface, which is detachable depending on your pet's preferences. The interior is crafted from polyester, and there are two fabric cover options — sherpa or corduroy — in linen (which looks like margarine), tuxedo (black), pearl (cream), cerulean, onyx (textured black), and bone (ivory). "Like most cats, my girls tend to find their favorite spots and stick to them for a while. When I introduced the Buffy pet bed to them, Trish took a fonder liking because it's the perfect landing spot for my heating pad, which she loves sitting on during the day, even though it's turned off (I'm laughing). I also laid it down right next to the window, where Trish's younger sister, Kit, enjoys her own round wicker nest, so they're able to stay close without invading each other's personal space.
If you have cats, I definitely recommend investing in the smallest size, which measures 31"x24"x6". And note that I was surprised by how much room it took up, given the lack of floor space in my smaller apartment. Both of my cats fit on it comfortably and will often use it for a boost of height when they're sitting upright and staring out the window curiously. Trish also loves it for lying down so she can stretch herself out.
I think my favorite part about the bed is just how supportive it is. There are three layers of foam and a nonslip backing on the bottom, so it stays in place and gives my cats a nice place to land without sinking in. "My two small-ish dogs — a chihuahua and a dachshund — each have their own separate beds, but always end up in the same one. It's a tight squeeze now that my dachshund is no longer a puppy though, so I decided it was time to get a larger bed that they could share more comfortably. When Buffy's Orthopedic Pet Bed arrived, I knew right away that upgrading their setup was the right move. Both of them immediately jumped on the bed and made themselves comfortable. It was a perfect fit, with no heads or tails hanging off the sides of the mini mattress. And yes, it seems to be as plush as a real mattress, thanks to supportive layers of foam that don't sink in or flatten with use.
I'd also be remiss not to mention just how good the pet bed looks — it even got a few compliments from my relatives over the holidays. The bed's soft sherpa cover reminded me of those trendy bouclé sofas that are all over Pinterest, so it felt like a stylish addition to my space versus something I'd try to hide in a corner. And if you're worried about choosing a lighter colorway like I was, there's no need to stress. It's easy to keep clean since the cover is machine washable. My only real complaint?
