Adorable Penguins Let Loose in an Empty Aquarium and Immediately Assessed the Fish Situation

While many of us are staying safe and snug at home, the penguins at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium are taking a curious field trip. The adorable penguins were set free inside the building and encouraged to explore neighboring exhibits to meet other animals — of course, they went straight for the fish.

"Penguins in the Amazon?!", Shedd Aquarium tweeted. "Some of the penguins went on a field trip to meet other animals at Shedd. Wellington seemed most interested in the fishes in Amazon Rising! The black-barred silver dollars also seemed interested in their unusual visitor."

Many fans of the aquarium thanked Shedd for continuing to share joyful content in these uncertain times. "Thank-you Shedd Aquarium for continuing to post. . . We need our smiles wherever we can get them. . . Please give Wellington some extra fish for bringing happiness to many people. . . Good job, Wellington!!!" one user wrote. Shedd assured fans that they plan to share even more cute videos of animals exploring the aquarium. "Without guests in the building, our animal caretakers are planning even more creative activities for the penguins and other animals," shared Shedd Aquarium.
