Hopefully everyone is spending lots of time outdoors with your dogs. Unfortunately there are dangers all dog families should be aware of. Mushrooms are everywhere, especially in cool damp environments we see in the approaching Fall season. Our yard is littered with mushrooms which is a scary sight for me! I am out picking up mushrooms every day hoping to keep my dogs safe. If you see your dog eating mushrooms consider it an emergency and take immediate action. Do not delay! Contact your veterinarian immediately to bring your dog in for emergency care. If you aren’t close enough, they will give you instructions to induce vomiting. For this reason, if you have a dog, you should also have a fresh bottle of hydrogen peroxide and dosing syringe as part of your pet first aid kit. While there are some mushrooms that do not cause serious life threatening illness, identifying mushrooms is so difficult that the ASPCA animal poison control considers all dog mushroom ingestion an emergency. The onset of symptoms can vary with the type of mushroom. Be safe and take all precautions to prevent mushroom ingestion. And if your dog has eaten mushrooms, begin emergency care immediately. Hopefully all of Piggy’s friends will have a safe and relaxing holiday or work day today. **Our dogs were closely monitored for these dog/mushroom poses. . . . #pinkpigletpuppy #vettips #veterinarymedicine #poisoncontrol #mushroomtoxicity #safety #petsafety #petsafetytips #psa #petfirstaid A post shared by Piglet, deaf blind pink puppy (@pinkpigletpuppy) on Sep 2, 2019 at 8:39am PDT Share This Link Copy ← Use Arrow Keys → 13 Previous Next Start Slideshow DogsPuppiesDisabilityTouching Stories
