Luna Lovegood's Announcement Will Have Harry Potter Fans Rejoicing

We just spat butterbeer (OK, fine . . . coffee) all over our computer screens at the news that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is not only opening in California, but it's opening soon. As in, April 7, 2016. Meaning that in less than two months, Potterheads will be able to explore what is sure to be a magical park unlike any other. Hogwarts castle will sit at the heart of Hollywood's new Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and fans will be able to flock to staple restaurants and stores, including The Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head, Honeydukes, Zonko's Joke Shop, and Ollivanders wand shop.

"The momentum behind J.K. Rowling's wizarding world is as strong as ever and we are incredibly excited to bring Hogwarts to Hollywood," said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. consumer products. "Fans around the world have experienced the magic at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando and Osaka and we look forward to continued success with our partners at Universal Studios Hollywood as we offer more fans a chance to step into this immersive environment."

The park will include Flight of the Hippogriff, which will be Universal Studios Hollywood's first outdoor roller coaster. Even more exciting, the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction will make its US debut as a 3D-HD adventure "designed to further immerse guests in an already captivating storyline." Parkgoers will don quidditch-inspired 3D goggles, and guests will be able to "venture through journeys experienced by Harry and his friends, spiraling and pivoting 360-degrees along an elevated ride track on a whirlwind adventure of a lifetime."
