Sponge Ice Packs

Enjoy the Chill With Sponge Ice Packs

Along with being a smart way to keep things cool at your next picnic or party, these ice packs double as a way to clean tables and spills once the chill is lost. It's so easy — and a party hack that can be used over and over again until the sponges break down. Here's what to do:

  1. Gently soak sponges with water — enough so the sponge is wet but not dripping wet. Place in a zip-top bag and into the freezer for 2 to 24 hours or until frozen solid.

  1. Use for packing your cooler or picnic basket, keeping items cold and offering some extra cushioning — especially between bottles.
  2. When you reach your destination, the now-unfrozen sponges can be used for wiping tables, cleaning hands, or just general clean up. Pop back in the zip-top bag and take home to use the next time you need to keep things cold.
