The authentic city of Changsha is home to several Western Han Dynasty Tombs, and is starting to rise in popularity among tourists for its rich history and cultural offerings. It also happens to be the capital city of China's Hunan province. Check out the old city remnants, take in an impressive view from a cable car on Mount Yuelu, taste street food, and use the city as jumping-off base for adventure in Zhangjiajie National Forest, which is three to four hours away.

Wuhan, China is an affordable city for travelers looking to get in-depth culture without the hefty price tag. Visit the traditional Yellow Crane Tower, appreciate the Guiyuan Temple, and try local foods. For some time out of the city, you can head to Wudang Mountain to stretch your legs on some of the hiking trails.

About 40 minutes east of San Juan, Río Grande is ideally situated next to El Yunque National Forest, host to hiking and waterfalls galore. Here you can choose beach or jungle, or both, depending on your interests. It's no wonder visitors are basing themselves in this area of ample activity.

The city's complex history is alive here, where the preserved city wall of the Ming Empire remains. In addition to the rich heritage, opportunities for outdoor musings are bountiful. Take a jaunt around Xuanwu Lake or tour Purple Mountain, which is home to many cultural artifacts.

A port city perched on the Yellow Sea, Qingdao, China is one to watch. Referred to as China's "sailing city," many competitions have been hosted here. A modern city with classic European influence in its architecture, history is still well preserved in this seaside destination known also for its production of Tsingtao Beer. With beaches, mountains, and a legit food scene, there's something for everyone here.

Clearly the beach gods are sending signs that Marigot on the island of St. Martin is a hot spot for all types of travelers, seeing as it's a hit in two categories. Pack your swimming costumes and start planning a sand, sun, and sea trifecta, Caribbean style.

Jump on the trend bandwagon early and plan a getaway to Munising, Michigan, a nature-filled destination where you can spend your days romping around the southern shore of Lake Superior. As the gateway town to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, you'll discover waterfalls, lighthouses, and abundant outdoor-centric activities for creating fun memories. Not to mention the postcard-perfect scenery, obviously.

For travelers that don't mind packing an umbrella, Bushmills in Northern Ireland is becoming increasingly popular. The village is a stone's throw from the famous Giants Causeway, and an all-around fantastic base for exploring the northern coast's attractions. Plus, whiskey. The Old Bushmills Distillery is a worthy stop, and host to a music festival every June.

An oceanside resort destination with vibrant nightlife makes Rosarito in Baja California, Mexico an ideal spot for single travelers. Just over the border from the US, you can relax on the beach and indulge in surfing, diving, hiking, horseback riding, and more. Oh, and eat half your weight in authentic tacos.

For beachy goodness in our own backyard, head to Destin on Florida's panhandle. White sand appreciation 101 will take place every day, as well as golfing and fishing, if you so please. Stroll the Harborwalk village or spot dolphins on a boat excursion. Beach-bum it up and treat yourself.

An oldie but goodie that's still going strong, we love seeing Myrtle Beach, South Carolina make the list. With an oversize beachfront to indulge in those Summer reads, classic boardwalk action reminiscent of childhood, and lively nightlife, Myrtle Beach is a Summer smorgasbord.

Baja California strikes again, attracting travelers to Ensenada, Mexico. Grey whales and shark spotting, and an ocean geyser, La Bufadora, are some of the natural attractions of this harbor settlement about 80 miles south of San Diego.
